Happy 2016 Book Nerds! I’ve been delinquent as of late. All December, and half of January! However, despite my complete failure to blog, I had a very successful reading year in 2015. I’ve included the most important stats below in my very first infographic. How was your 2015?
November is over and so is NaNo! While I enjoy the mad-dash writing, it does mean I don’t have a great deal of time to do much else. :/ That being said, there’s not much to wrap up in terms of November, though I am really happy to share this: I finished the 50K on November 30 at 50,666 words, which is pretty awesome considering my story includes blood magic. :D The story is about halfway done, so there’s more work for me to do. But also less pressure to get it done so I should be blogging and reading more in December. As for Ashley, she had a valiant run but didn’t technically win, though I think anyone participating is a winner! She wants to finish her draft by the end of the year, which I want to do as well. I went to a fun event called NerdCon: Stories, which was held for the first-time ever and in Minneapolis! I was so pumped to not have to travel far to see authors talk about books. I also volunteered at the event and got my ticket reimbursed, so that was well worth it. I got to see Jacqueline Carey, Rainbow Rowell, Patrick Rothfuss, Maggie Stiefvater, Stephanie Perkins, and many other authors. I didn’t end up… Read more »
What did I even do in September? Honestly, the month has rolled by and I can’t remember if I did anything exciting the entire month! September has been the start of the football season, and fantasy football has become a big part of my life again, but mostly my husband’s. :D I’m in two leagues and every Sunday we are dedicated to watching games all day via NFL Redzone. I have been getting a lot of reading and blogging done on Sundays now because we are always home. I also received my first Owl Crate this month and it was FANTASTIC! Ashley said she’ll be doing a review of the crate since it was her first too, and she queried all of you not long ago with her Readerly Advice post. However, if you are curious now, take a look at my post on tumblr. I also took my… Read more »
